Sharing and Learning from Professional Peers

professional landscaping peer group gatheringThere’s certainly strength in numbers. And when successful people get together to share their experiences and hard-won lessons, there’s also a lot of value to be had. Such get togethers -- often referred to as “masterminds” or peer groups -- are typically organized around peers within an industry. Many often take the form of casual meetings over lunch or coffee amongst professionals working in the same town or geographic region.

More formal and organized peer group encounters like the one recently convened at Inside Out Services headquarters in Silver Spring, MD was attended by participants flying in from as far away as Colorado and Arizona. The group consisted of six landscaping business owners with a wealth of experience and success, which included Inside Out Services’ founder and owner, Dave Lindoerfer. Each attendee presented background on their company, the challenges they face, and what’s been working for their business.

One of the great things with professional peer groups is identifying shared challenges and then presenting strategies and tactics for confronting them based on direct experience within one’s own business. It’s the spirit of collaboration and sharing that inspires all members to go back home from such meetings with a fresh perspective, armed with a new set of ideas and approaches to enable them to take their businesses to new heights!
